Frequently Asked Questions
If you’ve got questions about our wares, shop, or policies, we’ve got the answers. Below you’ll find some of our most commonly asked questions which have been categorised for your convenience. However, if you don’t see your query listed on this page please don’t hesitate to contact us and a member of our team will be happy to assist as best we can.
Are all of your furniture pieces antique?
No, whilst we stock a large selection of authentic antique furniture items, not every item in our shop is vintage. Some of our wares have been created in a vintage style, but use brand new materials and craftsmanship to ensure quality. In addition to this, some pieces have also been crafted by local artisans and members of our community. If authenticity is important to you, please do ask our staff to advise on any items you are interested in.
Do you only sell sofas?
Whilst sofas are how we came to be, and where our roots lie, we are not exclusively a sofa shop. Of course, this is our main area of expertise but when visiting our showroom or browsing our online shop, you’ll also find a range of dining tables, soft furnishings, artworks, vintage furniture, and much more to inject your home with character and personality.
Can the furniture be made bespoke or customised?
Some of our ranges can be customised, this is largely exclusive to our sofas as on select items we can change the upholstery to a fabric that suits your preferences and needs more closely. For more information on what can be customised, please contact us directly as we regularly update our stock.
Is all of your furniture made in the UK?
The majority of our furniture is made in the UK, and we work very closely with our manufacturers to ensure fair working conditions and high quality pieces. You can read more about this on our values page. However, some of our newer and smaller items such as accessories are made internationally or use outsourced materials.
Do you offer restoration services for antique furniture?
Apologies, we do not offer restoration services for antique pieces that you currently own. Depending on the type of furniture, we may be able to give you some recommendations for local or national services who can undertake this type of work.
Where do you deliver to?
We deliver to all mainland UK addresses. Unfortunately, international shipping is not something that we can offer at this time. We work with trusted partners to ensure that your delivery arrives intact and on time, and global shipments present the risk of your furniture being lost or damaged. As such, delivery is exclusively available to England, Scotland, and Wales.
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery costs are dependent on the items being delivered. A breakdown of costs can be seen here. However, it should be noted that you will never be charged more than £125 regardless of how many items you buy. This means you can add multiple items in a range of sizes to your cart and your delivery charge will be capped at this amount.
Can I collect the items myself?
Of course! If you prefer to collect your items yourself, please just let us know when you make your order. You can do this by calling us on 07904253699 if you want to place an order online or by phone. Alternatively, you can simply pop into the showroom and pay for your items on the day before taking them away in your own transport.
I’ve changed my mind - can I return my order?
We operate a 30 day return policy in which you can return your item if you change your mind. Please note that there is a criteria that must be met before we can accept a return. You’ll need to ensure the item is in its original packaging, is not damaged, and has the tags still on. You will also need to present us with your receipt or proof of purchase. To start a return email us at enquiries@vintagesofawarehouse.co.uk for further information.
We do not accept returns on sale items, custom items, perishable goods or personal care items.
My item arrived damaged, what should I do?
Please ensure that you check your item immediately upon receiving it for any damages. If you find that your item is defective, or you have received the wrong order, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone or email. We’d also kindly request that you send images of any damage incurred so we can further evaluate the issue and rectify this for you.
What is your refund process?
If we accept your request to return your item, your refund will be issued once the item has been delivered back to our warehouse and we have had a chance to inspect it further. Please remember that your bank or building society may take a few days to process this refund.
Where are you located?
We are located in Sherburn Hill, County Durham. If you’re coming by car, use the postcode DH6 1PA to take you to Front Street, and look out for The Old Curio building. We’re just a stone's throw away from the historic city of Durham, so we encourage you to make a day of it and see some of the local attractions in the area!
